Few dietitians reported aiming for the NPG minimum of 175 g of carbohydrate daily in both surveys (32% in 2019 vs. 26% in 2009). Recent inspection of morphological variation in adults and larvae suggests that the taxon comprises three regional populations: eastern, northern and western that may each represent separate species. To assess the systematic status of these populations, we documented phylogenetic relationships using mitochondrial and nuclear DNA markers, divergence in adult and larval morphology and male advertisement call. Our molecular genetic data demonstrates that the western population of C. platycephala is not the sister taxon of eastern and northern representatives of this nominate species, as the latter two are more closely related to another morphologically distinct species, C. verrucosa. Discriminant Function Analysis of 14 morphological traits in adults and 15 in larvae showed a high degree of morphological differentiation of western versus eastern/northern C. platycephala. Calls of eastern and western populations differed in duration, pulse rate, frequency and especially in amplitude modulation pattern across the call duration. We describe the western population as a new species, whose range is contained entirely within Western Australia. In addition, we redescribe Cyclorana platycephala, quantify morphological and genetic differences between the eastern and northern populations, and conclude that these data support recognition of a single species, Cyclorana platycephala, for populations found in New South Wales, the Barkly Tablelands and south-eastern Northern Territory, Queensland and South Australia.]]> Sat 24 Mar 2018 07:26:16 AEDT ]]> Physical conditions of gold deposition at the McPhees Deposit, Pilbara Craton, Western Australia: fluid inclusion and stable isotope constraints https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:3421 21.0 eq. wt.%, respectively). Oxygen isotope compositions of quartz–actinolite and albite–actinolite pairs indicate a temperature of gold-associated alteration of ~350°C, consistent with arsenopyrite thermometry, which indicates gold mineralization at <480°C. The early CO₂-rich fluid inclusions have densities that range from 0.6 to 1.05 g/cm3 which, at 350°C, correspond to 1–2 kbar pressure, consistent with geological relations indicating that the McPhees deposit formed at <7 km. Type-I inclusions are interpreted to contain early vein-related fluids that carried gold, but this assemblage (nearly pure CO₂ and subordinate, coexisting H₂O-rich fluid inclusions) is unusual for orogenic gold deposits. AF prevalence increased every year as women aged from 2.71% (95% CI 1.62%–3.80%) in 2000 among women aged 74–79 years to 24.83% (95% CI = 23.23%–26.44%) in 2015 among women aged 89–94 years. Mean CHA2DS2-VA score for women with AF was 3.43 (SD ± 1.23). Conclusions: The prevalence of AF reported in Australian women is among the highest compared to previous estimations from other countries and regions. According to the findings, about one in four women over the age of 90 years had AF. These women were also at high risk of stroke. This has significant public health implications especially with changing demographics of increase in the aging population. Further research is required on understanding how women with AF are treated in Australia and their health outcomes.]]> Mon 29 Jan 2024 17:43:06 AEDT ]]> The Germania 3 Decision translated: the quotation exception before the German Constitutional Court https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32837 Mon 23 Sep 2019 13:00:29 AEST ]]> Medication use and mental health outcome https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:30450 Mon 23 Sep 2019 11:35:43 AEST ]]> Traditional knowledge and intellectual property rights in Australia and Southeast Asia https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32900 Mon 23 Sep 2019 11:33:51 AEST ]]> Fatherhood Research Bulletin https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:32316 Mon 23 Sep 2019 10:54:31 AEST ]]> The label of life imprisonment in Australia: a principled or populist approach to an ultimate sentence https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:16191 Mon 23 Sep 2019 10:07:10 AEST ]]> Sea level variation around Australia and its relation to climate indices https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:42316 Mon 22 Aug 2022 09:42:27 AEST ]]> Platform for isolation and characterization of SARS-CoV-2 variants enables rapid characterization of Omicron in Australia https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:46967 Mon 12 Dec 2022 16:05:23 AEDT ]]> International social work and social welfare: Australia and Pacific Islands https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:40381 liveable countries, despite the increase in relative poverty and the negative effect of past policies on indigenous populations. Subjects/methods: A total of 4083 young women (27–31 years) in the healthy weight range (≥18.5 BMI <25 kg/m2) enroled in the Australian Longitudinal study on Women’s Health (ALSWH) were analysed. Diet quality was measured by the Australian Recommended Food Score (ARFS) and the Fruit and Vegetable Index (FAVI) using dietary data derived from a validated food frequency questionnaire. Weight change was calculated as the difference between baseline and 6-year follow-up weight (kg). Multiple linear regression models were used to analyse the association between baseline ARFS and FAVI and 6-year weight change. Results: At baseline, mean diet quality was low for both indices [ARFS (maximum 72) = 29.9 and FAVI (maximum 333) = 94.2] and women gained 3.7 kg of weight during 6 years of follow-up. Regression modelling revealed that every one point increase over 6 years in either the ARFS or FAVI score was associated with statistically significantly less weight gain over 6 years, although the amount was small (33 and 12 g, respectively). Conclusions: Higher diet quality predicts lower prospective weight gain in young women however, further research is needed over a longer follow-up period and in diverse population groups.]]> Fri 15 Jul 2022 10:18:19 AEST ]]> Impact of the COVID-19 Pandemic on the Welfare of Animals in Australia https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:41740 Fri 12 Aug 2022 11:07:24 AEST ]]> Distinct geographical and seasonal signals in two tree-ring based streamflow reconstructions from Tasmania, southeastern Australia https://nova.newcastle.edu.au/vital/access/ /manager/Repository/uon:55140 Fri 12 Apr 2024 18:03:21 AEST ]]> Beyond Thunderdome?
